Froch tips Mayweather to beat Pacquiao

Age and declining speed will make the match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. a dull and boring affair, one which the American will take on points, according to Englishman Carl Froch.

The Cobra believes the mouth watering £ 200 million super fight between the two biggest Welterweight legends of their era will be far from a classic because age has caught up with both the fighters. The two bickering legends take each other on in what is expected to be the biggest spectacle of the century at the fabled MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this weekend but the World Boxing Association or WBA Super Middleweight kingpin does not want to get hopes up.

But he did say that he believes the American will clinch the match on points. He said that he may still be undefeated, but at 38 years of age, he is definitely not a spring chicken anymore and it was evident in his last few bouts that he has lost a lot of speed of movement. It is similar situation for Pacquiao too. The 36 year old was once a fearsome athlete but he cannot be called that anymore.

Froch has said that he wants the best man to win the match, the one who trained the hardest for the fight and he is the deserving of victory.

However, he believes it will be Floyd Mayweather Jr. who takes the win simple because of his immense proficiency in defence. Froch said that he has displayed several times that he is a much better fighter than Pacquiao and he will show it once again that there is still enough fight left in him to overcome the challenge of the Filipino Bomber, who will want to inflict a first defeat on the legendary American boxer.
